During the first week of my practicum, I noticed that some children were experiencing difficulties during morning drop-offs.

One of the children, Hana, who has autism, exhibited a strong desire to connect with others throughout the day, even during snack time. She repeatedly expressed missing her parents, stating it a hundred times. I am committed to finding ways to help her find joy in these moments. She formed attachments with both my coworker and me during outdoor activities. I plan to delve into relevant articles, engage in discussions with teachers, and consult with my coworkers to better understand and support Hana. I’d like to note that she is not new to our class and will be transitioning to kindergarten in September.

My coworker and I try to support Emily by hugging her or letting her sit on our laps.
